Spring Break and Easter Weekend 2010!!!

Every year for Spring Break we go to the zoo and do some kind of baking or craft. Well this year I hurt my back just a week before Easter (and spent my birthday in bed because of it) so we did a lot of relaxing and decided to bake Easter cakes. (Simple enough right?) Naturally, when I asked the boys if we wanted to bake a square cake or a round cake they both wanted opposites! So I baked them one of each and let them decorate their own cake.

Britton wanted a round cake and Ethan wanted a square one.
Let them decorate cake!

Ta'da!
On the Saturday before Easter we went to see Pinkalicious with our friends the Huber's. The kids all had so much fun.
It was rally cute! The story is about a little girl who loves pink, everything and anything pink.

She eats one too many pink cupcakes and...

Th next morning she wakes up pink!

In the end her dad learns that pink isn't so bad and she learns that eating green (veggies that is) is not such a bad thing either.
When the show was over we waited in line to have pictures taken and get autographs.

Halle and Eden were so cute. They held out till the very end because they only wanted their picture taken with Pinkalicious, not any one else.

Afterwards we all went out for ice cream. Thanks for going with us guys, we had a blast!

Easter 2010!!! Forgive me for missing the egg hunt but the boys were quick this year. Britton did take a moment to model his new "How to train your dragon" P.J's that he got from the Easter Bunny though.

So, I'm way behind but hey! Better late than never...
Time for Cub-n-One again. Daddy and Britton went camping with scouts where he earned some new belt loops and got to participate in the firefighters challenge.

He already had the loop for fishing but fishings fun right? So why not go fishing?

He did earn an archery loop and a bb shooting loop.

It was lots of fun helping the firefighters.

They got to see the life flight copter briefly because as soon as it landed and everyone came crowding around I guess they got a call and had to leave and didn't return...

The boys got to "put out fires"...

"Rescue fellow firefighters"...

and Britton got to play the injured volunteer... He said he knew exactly what to do because he rode in a helicopter when he fell off his bunk bed. (two and a half years ago!)
They put a neck brace on him...
and strapped him to a board...
Then they flipped him over to show just how well they strap you in...

Needless to say, he slept very well that night.
