First Camping Trip.

Last Friday we went on our annual ward camp out. We decided to take the girls with us, after all it was just one night and we figured it was a good way to "test the water". They did GREAT! They loved being outside and we didn't have any trouble with them during the night.
We discovered it is time to get Britton a baseball mitt.
He was playing catch with out "neighbors" and he was doing a great job.

This was the most the girls have been outside at one time and it was nice to not have to worry about the wind or cold.

This was also the day Reagan had her x-ray and was no longer wearing her harness. I think it made a big difference in her attitude.

We even got a little relief and a lot of help with the girls. She was out cold!

They all slept in too...

Well except for Ethan, he is such a light sleeper that I knew he would be up as soon as everyone else started moving around.

Waiting in line for the Easter Egg Hunt.

We just had to play in the water before we went home.

I don't know how cold it was because I just sat on the side with the girls and watched. All in all it was a very good experience.

Its just going way too quickly!

Last week at their four month visit we were given the ok to start the girls on cereal. I can't believe it is that time already.
Reagan didn't know what to think at first but it has been almost a week now and now she even chews it before moving it around in her mouth and swallowing it.

Some times I think she even looks forward to the cereal. There are times when I try to give her just the bottle and she just cries. I know she is hungry but she won't take it.
Riley is another story all together. She gags every time I put a bite into her mouth.

Whether it is a small bite a big bite, thicker mix or thinner. She does not like the texture and knows not what to do with it.
I think she is a creature of habit and does not like change. We'll just have to keep trying.
In addition to eating solids the girls are both (this past week) following the same nap and sleep schedule and sleeping through the night on most days, they are both reaching for toys and playing/eating them when ever they can get them to their mouth. Riley is so close to rolling over and I'm sure Reagan is not too far behind. I think for right now though she is just loving not having her harness.

No more harness!!!

On Friday Reagan had another x-ray and we found out the harness has done it's job! No more harness for her.
She is so happy without it. Not like she knew any different but we are so happy she doesn't need it any more. We will go back in July for another x-ray to make sure her hips are growing how they should be on their own.

Yeah!!!

Just an amazing person.

About a month before I had the twins Britton and Ethan's art teacher came to me one morning to tell me that she was expecting twin girls. I was so surprised, I didn't even know she was pregnant.
Well her story is a little different than mine. She was acting as a surrogate for a family who wanted to have kids of their own but couldn't. I had instant admiration for her, it takes an amazing act of kindness to carry a baby for nine months and be able to hand her over so willingly. I know I could not do it with one, not to mention two of them.
Last week she was on my mind constantly. She had been put on bed rest a while back and I couldn't stop thinking about her. One night I couldn't sleep so I decided to send her an e-mail. A few days later I got a reply, she had had the girls the Saturday before and all were doing fine. She sent me a few pictures (sorry I cannot post them for respect of privacy) and when I looked at them I just started bawling.
Karen, you are just such an amazing person. I'm sure you have made their new family so happy. I know and you know how great it is to be a mom, and I can vouch for the fact that having twins means that you do everything twice and everything is doubled. Including the love.
