Scout Fun Day!

Britton and Daddy went to Cub Scout Fun Day. There was so much to do there.

Britton did prety well with the bow and arrow.

He would not let me help him, he had to do it on his own.



Then we went fishing.







Britton caught two fish. He was so proud.



He was all tuckered out by the end of the day!

Bears on a Bench!

My kiddos don't like the traditional Ants on a Log (mainly the celery) so we invented Bears on a Bench. I split a banana down the center and stuck Teddy Grams in each half. I alternated the color to make a pattern. They thought it was so cool.

Pink Eye!

Britton missed Three days of school this week! ARGH!
Monday he had a fever and Oma stayed home with him. Tuesday his eyes were all red.
He looked like someone beat him up. I took him to the doctor and sure enough he had Pink Eye. Then there was no school today (Friday) because of the County Fair (Ya' they get Friday off for the fair) crazy but we do live in the country. Oma stayed with both of them today because even the daycare was closed. Eric said he could but she was more than happy to stay with them. She has to use her time anyway, or they will take it away. I feel bad because I went to work, but I work two days a week (Monday and Friday) and 1/2 day Saturday so I don't think it is right to call in on the only days I work.

Our little Scout!

Well last week Britton started Cub Scouts. I'm so excited, I have been waiting for him to start scouts since I was a Den Leader when he was almost 2 years old. He loved it when all the boys came over for Scouts.





We got his uniform on Saturday. He is so proud of it. He has been sick this week and has missed school but he wants to wear it to school tomorrow.

Its All About E!

Where do I start? Oh, ya! Where has the time gone? I just wanted to take the time to reflect on some of the times we spend together Ethan and I. Its different than it was when I was home with Britton. I always said Ethan would get the alone time with me when Britton starts school where Britton got the alone time with me before he turned 3. We have a blast, not that I didn't with Britton. It was just different fun. Ethan loves to help me with the laundry, sweeping,vacuuming and such. He will follow me around when I'm cleaning and ask "will you play with me?" He is so desperate, and he says the cutest things. He always says "when I get bigger, I drink soda?" or "when I get big I eat gum?" I say "ya baby when you get big." The other day he pulled up next to me in his little truck and told me to get in. I said no, I was too big. He said "when you get little?" "Ya baby, when I get little!" He's learning that if you leave the trains running the batteries die. Well when I took him to go pee before bed one night and nothing came out he said his p-p was dead! Oh, man I laughed so hard. Now we are learning our letters right? Well we have this puzzle that has letters with pictures underneath. When I ask him what letter I'm holding up he says the object that it goes to in stead of what letter it is. When we go out he points to letters on signs and says "shoes!" when he sees an S or "frog!" when he sees a F. I'll never get over the cute things they do and say. I love you E. Your growing up so fast.

Family reunion!

We went to the Koehler Family Reunion today. They have it every year in September, we all bring food and visit with ALL the family. There are so many people. They come from all over to update the family tree, meet new family members and remember family members who have past. The boys had lots of fun. We couldn't keep Britton out of the trees. The oak trees are huge and beautiful. Ethan really enjoyed the swings. We played soccer (well we kicked the ball around and ran a lot). Britton and Ethan decided to get into the fountain and I mean it, they were drenched. We had to change their clothes.





The boys all clean and dry with Their cousin Dustin. Him and Britton are the same age. Well he'll be 6 in December. Man, my boys are white!

Lately I have been missing home so much. I don't know why but I can't stop. I miss my mom a lot. I know we are all struggling to get by when we live so far apart and it seems so much harder to get through. I just want my family to know we miss them. ALL of them!

Eric found this awesome feature on our camera. You can make it enhance any one color for pictures or videos. I love it. I am stuck to my camera again. I was taking pictures all day. Needless to say we had a fun Labor Day.

First time for everything!

Among my many anal tendencies I don't let the boys have soda. Well I promised Britton he could have a root beer float for his 6th birthday. He has been bugging me since March.

Obviously he loved it. He sometimes asks if he can have root beer with his dinner but he never finishes it. He tells me it tingles his tongue.

I'm happy I may have helped prolong the addiction that is soda. I have overcome some of my other anal tendencies (like playing in the mud and chewing gum!) Britton had his first piece of gum in March. It keeps him busy sometimes when he thinks he needs to eat.

Ethan is the one I worry about. He is always trying to get a hold of someones drink. He can always have mine. (I like mostly water and crystal light.) Its cute though, he'll say "When I get bigger, I drink soda?" or "When I get bigger I eat gum?" he's so positive about it too!
