What is it about Grandmas?

We were so lucky to have Grama come stay with us for six weeks! She had so much fun hanging out with all of us. It was nice to have such a long visit though because we didn't have to rush to do all kinds of things. We mostly stayed home and hung out. I even worked most of my scheduled days and Grama got to babysit. Some of the wonderful things Grama got to do in the last few weeks were:
Well this little turkey here missed 2 days in the first week of school because he came down with a virus!!! I call it "The Back to School Virus". Two other kids in his class were out with it and the next week one of his teachers were out with it...
Poor baby!
Getting the boys off the bus was fun. No matter how hot it was, Grama was there with her camera (in case they did anything cute). And they did...
The Labor Day Picnic with our ward turned out to be a lot of fun, Grama had a great time going to Nursery with me every Sunday too.

She also got to witness one of our BIG Texas Rain Storms...
Our shed now has a new home between the opening in the trees. Ethan was so upset when he got home from school that day. He just fell apart because he couldn't drive his truck through there anymore. I assured him that Opa would move it as soon as the weather cleared up.
The storm blew over one of the biggest trees in the park next to our house. It was crazy!!!!

There were actually trees down all over town.
She had plenty of time for dominoes...

Electronic Battleship...
and all kinds of other crafts...

Once the weather cleared up they spent some time hunting for bugs and spiders. It wasn't too hard to find some... Thank goodness Grama ALWAYS has her camera!
She even had time to crochet each of the babies a blanket. One pink and one purple.
This morning we went to school with the boys to have breakfast before mommy and daddy took Grama to the airport destined for Oregon. My lucky brother and sister in law get her next...
We miss you already Grama..

Thats ok. We get her back in December... Can't wait!

Frog and Toad.

For my birthday I got season passes to the Magik Theater, well I had a few tickets left and the last show of the season was showing in August. Since it was from one of my favorite book series' I thought it would be fun to take Britton and a few friends to see it.
"A Year With Frog and Toad." My sister and I used to read these books when we were kids and I have even gotten a few from the library to read with the boys from time to time.
Ethan had fun with Britton and his friends.
Rio, Ryan and Cannon.

I absolutely loved this play! They worked in a little from each book and it brought back so many memories from my childhood.
"Spring" and coming out of hibernation... (Above)
"Summer"...
"Fall" ...

"Winter" and going back into hibernation...
I found a real cool Frog ice cream cake at Baskin Robins and we went there after to eat cake and open presents...

I didn't think about the fact that it probably softens up on the drive home but since we were eating it there it was solid as a rock so Eric had to borrow their machete to cut the darn thing...
All the kids got a BIG kick out of it though.

mmm...

Great, more LEGOS!

I can't believe I missed these.

For his birthday dinner Britton chose a Tepanyaki restaurant.
They cook your food right in front of you, it was a lot of fun.
Ethan didn't like the fire too much but he still had fun.

Then we went to Krispe Kreme for a free doughnut!
It had been a long time since we visited Krispe Kreme but they acted like they had never been there.

Then we went home to open presents.

This is a little backwards but daddy took the day off and we went swimming in the river at the Blanco State Park.

I'd say Britton had a fun birthday. I still have to post the pics from his party with his friends but I'll get to it eventually...
