Rub-A-Dub, Dub...

Did I ever tell you how much fun it is giving two babies a bath? Sometimes it feels like that movie "Groundhog's Day"... I get do do everything over and over. Undress one baby, give her a bath, rub her down with lotion, get her dressed... Then I get to do it all over again. Don't get me wrong, I'm not complaining, I'm having the time of my life with these two. I don't want it to end.
Usually I bathe them one at a time but on this day I braved them both at once just to mix it up a little. Let me say it was interesting, but it'll have to get pretty mundane for me to do this again!

On an even more positive note... They both lived through it.

Rewind...

Yesterday my sister called to tell me that after 2 years of fighting cancer, her husband had lost his battle. My brother in law Brian was a great person, I think Nita said it best that "you could not be near him laughing without laughing as well." He always brought laughter to our day.

I had school last night but Eric kept the kids up so we could tell them when I got home. We didn't want to wait till the next day because in our busy life the "next day" always turns into next week or even two weeks.

The boys are both super sad about their uncle Brian, Britton sobbed and sobbed. Ethan got pretty emotional too, but was quick to point out that at least Grama is there to take care of Aunt Songe and Charlie. I told the boys about this post and that I would have it finished by the time they got home so they could read it with me.

This post is a tribute to "our Uncle Brian" We love you and miss you already.
BIG Fishy was given to Britton from uncle Brian in 2009 when we all met up in Utah for a visit. Britton hugged BIG Fishy a little tighter last night.
Rest In Peace Uncle Brian. 09-20-2011

03-07-2011 Saundra and Brian came to visit for Reagan and Riley's blessing.
Even though Brian wasn't up for sight seeing we had a lot of time together and even made it to the movies to see Rango with him.
07-2010 we took a trip to Florida to visit Saundra and Brian, Mary, Eddie and Nita and family too.

At one of Brian's favorite places to eat.
Touring the fort.

We were all HOT but Brian had no inhibitions about taking off his shirt. (I think it was his mission to make us laugh).
Fourth of July, fireworks and celebrating.
One BIG happy family picture before saying goodbye to the Novak's.
Britton and Uncle Brian "chillin".

Some of Brian and Saundra's trips to Chicago for the CTCA.
"If tears could build a stairway, and memories a lane, I'd walk right up to Heaven and bring you home again."

06-2009 Saying goodbye after a great trip to Utah.
The very trip where BIG Fishy became part of our family. Thank You Uncle Brian!
He has slept with that fish every night since he brought him home.

03-2009 Saundra and Brian drove to Texas to surprise me for my birthday. Mmm... Rudy's BBQ!
River walk San Antonio...
The Alamo...
07-2008 Saundra and Brian's wedding.

Rub a dub dub!

I had no idea how much easier it is to give a baby a bath in the sink. I guess I'm just getting old.
Daddy took Riley's cup so he could get a picture of her smiling. Guess that back fired on him?
The girls thought taking a bath in the sink was just the coolest thing. Now that they can sit up I might make this the norm...

This was about a month ago when Riley starting sitting on her own. Reagan was a little later sitting up so she had to wait.

All clean and soo sweet!
